How long should I spend at Château du Clos Lucé?

​Clos Lucé is compact enough for a half-day visit, but it isn’t a quick in-and-out stop. Your timing depends on whether you only want Leonardo’s final rooms, or also the invention galleries and the large outdoor park where many visitors linger longest.

1–1.5 hours. Enough for Leonardo’s bedroom, the chapel, the Great Hall, and the main furnished rooms.

Château + invention galleries

2–2.5 hours. Adds time for the basement models, multimedia displays, and a more thoughtful look at Leonardo’s engineering ideas.

Full château + galleries + Parc Leonardo da Vinci

2.5–3.5 hours. Best for the indoor rooms, life-size outdoor machines, garden paths, and a relaxed café or photo break.
